He told me if you are living in a rented house in another city you can use your Aadhar card as Address proof. UDAI has introduced a process for tenants to update their addresses. By following the process you can change your address in your Aadhar card. But for this, you need to have a rental agreement with the address mentioned on it. How to get current address proof in Aadhaar card?
For postal address proof follow the guide below:
- First, scan the rental agreement and make a PDF.
- Now visit the official website of UIDAI
- https://uidai.gov.in/
- Tap on the options address update online.
- Tap on the update address in the E window and enter your Aadhaar card number and log in.
- You will receive OTP on your mobile.
- Schedule a date now.
- After this go to the Aadhaar centre and update or correct your Address on your Aadhaar card.
- Fill in the necessary details in the form provided and update the address on the form. Along with the photocopy of the Aadhaar card provide the photocopy of the rental agreement PAN card, voter card or passport. You will also need to provide name, address, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, photo and biometric details and a fee of Rs. 50.
